In Revelations was God, Jesus, and the prophets fore-telling about the Daughter of Zion as a person, as a 1-2 specific groups of people, or as the land called Israel? Let's look at the scriptures carefully.

Daughter Of Zion

The ancient Daughter of Zion was no stranger to salvation, or the coming Savior:

"Have mercy upon me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, Thou that liftest me up from the gates of death: That I may show forth all Thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in Thy salvation." (Psalm 9:13-14 KJV)

"Behold, The Lord has proclaimed to the end of the earth: Say to the daughter of Zion, "Behold, your salvation comes; behold, His reward is with Him, and His recompense before Him." And they shall be called The holy people, The redeemed of The Lord; and you shall be called sought out, a city not forsaken" (Isaiah 62:11-12 RSV)

"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem! Lo, your King comes to you; triumphant and victorious is He, humble and riding on an ass, on a colt the foal of an ass." (Zechariah 9:9 RSV)
Note: This is a direct prophecy of the Triumphal Entry of
Jesus Christ: "So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, crying, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!" And Jesus found a young ass and sat upon it; as it is written, "Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, sitting on an ass's colt!" (John 12:13-15 RSV)

"Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion; for lo, I come and I will dwell in the midst of you, says The Lord" (Zechariah 2:10 RSV)

And it shall come to pass on that day, the Lord will put forth his hand again, the second time, to recover the remnant of his people, which shall remain, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And He will set up an ensign for the nations, and will gather the outcasts of Israel, and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim." Isaiah xi. 11-13.

"And speak to them, Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I take the children of
Israel from between the nations whither they have wandered, and I will gather them from around, and bring them unto their own land. And I will make them into one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one kind shall be to them all as kind, and they shall be no more two nations, nor be any more divided into two kingdoms. And they shall not defile themselves any more with their idols, and with their abominations, and with all their transgressions; and I will save them from all their places, where they have sinned, and I will purify them, and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. And my servant David shall be king over them, and one shepherd shall be to them all, and in my mudgments they shall walk, and my statutes they shall observe and do them. And they shall dwell upon the land which I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers have dwelt, they and their children and their children's children for ever, and my servant David shall be prince to them for ever. And I will make with them a covenant of peace, an everlasting covenant it shall be with them; and I will place them, and multiply them, and fix my sanctuary among them for ever. And the nations shall know, that I am the Lord who sanctify Israel."* Exek. 37:21-28.

*This paragraph has been given at unusual length, in order to give the whole doctrine at one view. If considered best it might be merely read to the class without getting it by heart.

Isaiah 51:16 says, “And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.”
Zion, therefore, is a term applied to God’s people, especially in Old Testament times. Notice in Jeremiah 6:2 that Zion had one daughter. “I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.”

"Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant whom ye delight in, behold, he cometh, saith the Lord of hosts." Malachi iii. 1.

JEREMIAH 6:26 O daughter of my people, dress in sackcloth and roll about in ashes! Make mourning as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the plunderer will suddenly come upon us.

Below are the major bible quotes re: God the Father coming as Elijah for your soul, it is coming as the Daughter of Zion, and the single woman who is the Daughter of Zion, to be the Two Witnesses; which event is upon us NOW.

Quote from: The Bible
Isa 1:8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
Isa 1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Quote from: The Bible
Isa 1:26 ....... afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.
Isa 1:27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.
Isa 1:28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
Quote from: The Bible
Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

GOD'S PROMISES NEW JERUSALEM TO THE DAUGHTER OF ZION

The Daughter of Zion inherits the Kingdom of God, and her husband is God the Father as Elijah. Together could they be the two witnesses of Revelation chapter 11.

Isaiah chapter 54. Through these understandings and be blessed; enter into God's Kingdom and His City of Refuge, New Jerusalem.

But first, some selected verses for background on the Daughter of Zion and the Father dwelling BODILY in Mount Zion, New Jerusalem, to live WITH His people.

Psa 9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.

Psa 9:13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
Psa 9:14 That I may show forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

In many places in the Bible the New Jerusalem is seen as "Desolate" because the people on earth do not have the faith to believe in it's reality, and therefore have not become inhabitants of the City of God. Once more people believe, then the City becomes populated.

The state of the world today is just like Sodom, simply, about to be judged, and the people of God are to be rescued, even by angels if necessary, like Lot and his family, and taken to New Jerusalem for safety.

See what the Lord said to the church of Philadelphia in which He found no fault. More over he has not found fault in the United States. The Garden Of Eden being near Cedar Rapids, Iowa from which the Flaming Sword Appeared to the daughter of New Zion with in the boundaries of "New Zion" and Garden of Eden promised land. In which the Mississippi River is gaining water to supply the people in up coming times.

Isa 52:1 Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
Isa 52:2 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, and sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
Isa 52:3 For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for naught; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus back into the Holy City of New Jerusalem.

Isa 52:8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.
Isa 52:9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.
Isa 52:10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

Notice that God the Father will "BRING" again Zion, and his holy arm is the Father in the flesh as Elijah, and everyone on earth will see the city suspended above the Earth!

Isa 62:11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
Isa 62:12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.

Jer 4:31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

Here is where one of the witnesses, the Daughter of Zion cries out to God that it is enough, the whole world is now filled with murderers! She can no longer handle what she is witnessing on earth, in the whole of her, mind, spirit, soul, and entire being. She will and has cried out to her father "God". She is in travail, to give birth to the manifestation of New Jerusalem, not by birthing physically each individual rather, via calling people to faith in its existence so that it can be inhabited. Note above, in revelation how each person becomes a literal PILLAR in the temple of the city.

Mic 4:1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

A mountain in the top of the mountains; this is above the earth. This is real folks; I am not making it up; it has been shown to me in the scriptures by the Holy Spirit.

Mic 4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

People will be saying all these things very soon.

Mic 4:6 In that day, saith the LORD, will I assemble her that halteth, and I will gather her that is driven out, and her that I have afflicted;
Mic 4:7 And I will make her that halted a remnant, and her that was cast far off a strong nation: and the LORD shall reign over them in mount Zion from henceforth, even forever.

The Lord Himself, the Father, as Elijah will reign in mount Zion.

Mic 4:8 And thou, O tower of the flock, the stronghold of the daughter of Zion, unto thee shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem.

The kingdom is COMING and being GIVEN to the daughter of Zion. The remnant, God-begotten daughter of Jerusalem who is the Mother Holy Spirit. Please see these other threads for the details.

Quote from: The Bible
Mic 4:9 Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counselor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.
Mic 4:10 Be in pain, and labor to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail: for now shalt thou go forth out of the city, and thou shalt dwell in the field, and thou shalt go even to Babylon; there shalt thou be delivered; there the LORD shall redeem thee from the hand of thine enemies.

God put the daughter of Zion into Babylon so that she could be a witness to the coming judgment on the world system and He would then bring her out and into New Jerusalem. This is what Isaiah chapter 54 is about.

Quote from: The Bible
Zec 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
Zec 2:11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
Zec 2:12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
Note: This is speaking of "New Zion" bare this in mind as we have already determined in the previous passages.

Zec 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

See here how God is raised up and coming to us as Elijah to dwell with us in Mount Zion, New Jerusalem. Who was it that said it was to be a man? In the dictionary does not the definition of man have a dual meaning as not just "a man/one person, but does it not also mean mankind? Thus it could have meant a man or woman. These passages clearly are defining a woman not a man.

ISAIAH chapter 54

Isa 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

The Daughter of Zion, as a witness, will bring forth many children unto faith to be inhabitants of New Jerusalem all at once, without having to go through pregnancies for each one first. These children are the true Israelites.

Isa 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
Isa 54:3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

Stretch out and make room for a 'multitude' of people who want to escape this world and come to New Jerusalem believing on the salvation which is in Jesus Christ of Nazareth (your proper wedding feast garment). The Daughter of Zion will inherit many gentile children, who become Israelites - not Jews as soon as they circumcise their hearts, by receiving the new heart from Jesus by believing on His blood sacrifice as the only Lamb of God. Now the desolate cities in New Jerusalem will be filled with people who believe by faith.

Isa 54:4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

The Daughter of Zion is sure to get this promised fulfilled and will not be put to shame for announcing it to the peoples, and she will no longer be alone in the earth in babylon because Elijah is coming to get her.

Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

This is Elijah, God the Father in the flesh, the RULER of the Second Heaven and representative of Almighty God who is in the third heaven, so that God can live WITH His people, in FORM, which is the desire of His Heart. (hallelujah).

Isa 54:6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.
Isa 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
Isa 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

The moment is the time line we have been through to work out God's plan of salvation in the Earth. From God Himself, as founding the city of Jerusalem as a physical city and marrying her, to establishing the natural city on earth as type of the Heavenly City to come in the future.

Isa 54:9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
Isa 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
Isa 54:11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

Isa 54:12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.
Isa 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

These two will also represent the Great Father and Great Mother Holy Spirit who are up in the Third Heaven and who are in Spirit only. Just as Jesus represents the Christ of the Trinity of the Third Heaven.

Isa 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

The above study is the reason that separate people have come up all of sudden announcing the arrival of God's City, New Jerusalem. And is also the reason that attacks against even the name Jerusalem have sprung up, giving people the CHOICE. Learning the truth, the awakening. The darkness going into the light, the veils of falsehoods dropping for the new dawn of the light of God everlasting. Lies and untruths brought forward.

You can see in most of the passages about the Daughter of Zion they are talking about someone a specific person. In a few of the passages we see him taking to "two" specific groups of people, those he has chosen (the tribe of the remnant currently "most" not in Israel that "We think of as Israel in the middle east" but those in/to go to the "New Israel/ New Zion"), and those he is mad at (currently in Israel). Only a couple passages refer to a specific piece of land, in which he is upset with those who currently there and have had control of it in the past lived in Israel. We can clearly see the "New Zion" is not even in the same place as we believe it to be today. Remember he takes his true holy people out of there and moves them to new Zion.
Message to those whom Invalidated the Bible and Torah. to them about the invalidity of the bible and Torah today, since My Father's words were completely clear. If you even so much as remove a yod or "letter" Mark etc from the holy word you have defiled it and invalidated it...
You have been a part in decisions, actions, in which all lead to his true name shamefully removed, in how many places from both the bible and Torah. In such my father said you have disgraced yourselves and your people again. Tell the truth now! Now all truth must come forth, for the darkness will come to the light by your hand or his. Our father is compassionate and bestows mercy to those who seek it.
I urge you tell your people the truth in the name of God the Father. Hear this Israel and Vatican within the confines of the Middle East, hear your Father undo that which you have created. New Zion will not be in the Middle East The Father is clear on this. Will you seek judgement in end times for something so foolish when you can undo what you have wrought so simply, or is it? Did God confuse and mislead 1-2 groups of people until he was ready for an encounter with the truth at the right time, if so when is or will be that time?

SCRIPTURE OF DAUGHTER OF ZION AS A GROUP OF PEOPLE IN ISRAEL

In these passages we can see he is talking about a land or group of people not an individual. Let's take a closer look.

The Lamentations of Jeremiah

Chapter 1

1

How doth the city sit1 solitary, [that was] full of people! [how] is she become as a widow! she [that was] great among the nations, [and] princess among the provinces, [how] is she become tributary!

Here we see the city and the people within it was once full of people now desolate. Once great now nothing.

2

She weepeth4 sore2 in the night, and her tears [are] on her cheeks: among all her lovers6 she hath none to comfort18 [her]: all her friends have dealt treacherously1 with her, they are become her enemies.6

Now everyone turns away and have become her enemies.

3

Judah is gone into captivity1 because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth1 among the heathen, she findeth1 no rest: all her persecutors6 overtook52 her between the straits.

The holy blood went into captivity, without rest.

4

The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come6 to the solemn feasts: all her gates are desolate:6 her priests sigh,12 her virgins are afflicted,12 and she [is] in bitterness.1

Jut a minute, did we read that right? But if Jerusalem was to be Zion why do none go to the feasts, and her gates are desolate? Does this again prove the point that it is because the Israelites the Benjamin Tribe, this true seed is not at the gates in the place of their birth rite? Think about this for a moment. The Israelites spoke of in the bible are a specific bloodline. Jewish live in Israel at the moment still today in 2007. But we have already learned not to classify Jewish and Israelite as a lump together they are two specific groups of people. So again we realize New Zion is a new place.

5

Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies6 prosper;1 for the LORD hath afflicted52 her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone1 into captivity before the enemy.

6

And from the daughter of Zion all her beauty is departed:4 her princes are become like harts [that] find1 no pasture, and they are gone4 without strength before the pursuer.6

When the true seed of man departed this holy blood forced out all that beauty had departed. In other words it was no longer of beauty to God one could consider.

7

Jerusalem remembered1 in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that she had in the days of old, when her people fell2 into the hand of the enemy, and none did help6 her: the adversaries saw1 her, [and] did mock1 at her sabbaths.

This goes along further with the above statement.

8

Jerusalem hath grievously sinned;1 therefore she is removed: all that honoured18 her despise52 her, because they have seen1 her nakedness: yea, she sigheth,8 and turneth4 backward.

9

Her filthiness [is] in her skirts; she remembereth1 not her last end; therefore she came down4 wonderfully: she had no comforter.18 O LORD, behold3 my affliction: for the enemy6 hath magnified52 [himself].

10

The adversary hath spread1 out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen1 [that] the heathen entered1 into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command14 [that] they should not enter4 into thy congregation.

11

All her people sigh,12 they seek18 bread; they have given1 their pleasant things 4262 for meat to relieve53 the soul: see,3 O LORD, and consider;54 for I am become vile.6

12

[Is it] nothing to you, all ye that pass by?6 1870 behold,54 and see3 if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done19 unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted52 [me] in the day of his fierce anger.

13

From above hath he sent1 fire into my bones, and it prevaileth4 against them: he hath spread1 a net for my feet, he hath turned52 me back: he hath made1 me desolate6 [and] faint all the day.

14

The yoke of my transgressions is bound8 by his hand: they are wreathed,101 [and] come up1 upon my neck: he hath made my strength to fall,52 the Lord hath delivered1 me into [their] hands, [from whom] I am not able4 to rise up.2

15

The Lord hath trodden under foot14 all my mighty [men] in the midst of me: he hath called1 an assembly against me to crush2 my young men: the Lord hath trodden1 the virgin, the daughter of Judah, [as] in a winepress.

16

For these [things] I weep;6 mine eye, mine eye runneth down6 with water, because the comforter18 that should relieve56 my soul is far1 from me: my children are desolate,6 because the enemy6 prevailed.1

17

Zion spreadeth forth14 her hands, [and there is] none to comfort18 her: the LORD hath commanded14 concerning Jacob, [that] his adversaries [should be] round about him: Jerusalem is as a menstruous woman among them.

18

The LORD is righteous; for I have rebelled1 against his commandment: hear,3 I pray you, all people, and behold3 my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone1 into captivity.

19

I called1 for my lovers,18 [but] they deceived14 me: my priests and mine elders gave up the ghost1 in the city, while they sought14 their meat to relieve55 their souls.

20

Behold,3 O LORD; for I [am] in distress:1 my bowels are troubled;39 mine heart is turned8 within me; for I have grievously2 rebelled:1 abroad the sword bereaveth,14 at home [there is] as death.

21

They have heard1 that I sigh:12 [there is] none to comfort18 me: all mine enemies6 have heard1 of my trouble; they are glad1 that thou hast done1 [it]: thou wilt bring52 the day [that] thou hast called,1 and they shall be like unto me.

22

Let all their wickedness come4 before thee; and do24 unto them, as thou hast done22 unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs [are] many, and my heart [is] faint.

The Lamentations of Jeremiah

Chapter 2

1

How hath the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud55 in his anger, [and] cast down52 from heaven unto the earth the beauty of Israel, and remembered1 not his footstool 7272 in the day of his anger!

2

The Lord hath swallowed up14 all the habitations of Jacob, and hath not pitied:1 he hath thrown down1 in his wrath the strong holds of the daughter of Judah; he hath brought [them] down52 to the ground: he hath polluted14 the kingdom and the princes thereof.

3

He hath cut off1 in [his] fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath drawn52 back his right hand from before the enemy,6 and he burned4 against Jacob like a flaming fire, [which] devoureth1 round about.

4

He hath bent1 his bow like an enemy:6 he stood12 with his right hand as an adversary, and slew4 all [that were] pleasant to the eye in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion: he poured out1 his fury like fire.

5

The Lord was as an enemy:6 he hath swallowed up14 Israel, he hath swallowed up14 all her palaces: he hath destroyed14 his strong holds, and hath increased55 in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

6

And he hath violently taken away4 his tabernacle, as [if it were of] a garden: he hath destroyed14 his places of the assembly: the LORD hath caused the solemn feasts and sabbaths to be forgotten14 in Zion, and hath despised4 in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.

7

The Lord hath cast off1 his altar, he hath abhorred14 his sanctuary, he hath given up52 into the hand of the enemy6 the walls of her palaces; they have made1 a noise in the house of the LORD, as in the day of a solemn feast.

8

The LORD hath purposed1 to destroy53 the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out1 a line, he hath not withdrawn52 his hand from destroying:15 therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament;55 they languished49 together.

9

Her gates are sunk1 into the ground; he hath destroyed14 and broken14 her bars: her king and her princes [are] among the Gentiles: the law [is] no [more]; her prophets also find1 no vision from the LORD.

10

The elders of the daughter of Zion sit4 upon the ground, [and] keep silence:4 they have cast up52 dust upon their heads; they have girded1 themselves with sackcloth: the virgins of Jerusalem hang down52 their heads to the ground.

11

Mine eyes do fail1 with tears, my bowels are troubled,39 my liver is poured8 upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings6 swoon9 in the streets of the city.

12

They say4 to their mothers, Where [is] corn and wine? when they swooned99 as the wounded in the streets of the city, when their soul was poured out99 into their mothers' bosom.

13

What thing shall I take to witness55 5749 4 for thee? what thing shall I liken17 to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal55 to thee, that I may comfort17 thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach [is] great like the sea: who can heal4 thee?

14

Thy prophets have seen1 vain and foolish things for thee: and they have not discovered14 thine iniquity, to turn away53 thy captivity; 7622 but have seen4 for thee false burdens and causes of banishment.

15

All that pass by6 1870 clap1 [their] hands at thee; they hiss1 and wag55 their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, [saying, Is] this the city that [men] call4 The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?

16

All thine enemies6 have opened1 their mouth against thee: they hiss1 and gnash4 the teeth: they say,1 We have swallowed [her] up:14 certainly this [is] the day that we looked for;14 we have found,1 we have seen1 [it].

17

The LORD hath done1 [that] which he had devised;1 he hath fulfilled14 his word that he had commanded14 in the days of old: he hath thrown down,1 and hath not pitied:1 and he hath caused [thine] enemy6 to rejoice17 over thee, he hath set up52 the horn of thine adversaries.

18

Their heart cried1 unto the Lord, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down54 like a river day and night: give4 thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.4

19

Arise,3 cry out3 in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out3 thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up3 thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint7 for hunger in the top of every street.

20

Behold,3 O LORD, and consider54 to whom thou hast done22 this. Shall the women eat4 their fruit, [and] children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain11 in the sanctuary of the Lord?

21

The young and the old lie1 on the ground in the streets: my virgins and my young men are fallen1 by the sword; thou hast slain1 [them] in the day of thine anger; thou hast killed,1 [and] not pitied.1

22

Thou hast called4 as in a solemn day my terrors round about, so that in the day of the LORD'S anger none escaped nor remained: those that I have swaddled14 and brought up14 hath mine enemy6 consumed.14

The Lamentations of Jeremiah

Chapter 3

1

I [am] the man [that] hath seen1 affliction by the rod of his wrath.

2

He hath led1 me, and brought55 [me into] darkness, but not [into] light.

3

Surely against me is he turned;4 he turneth4 his hand [against me] all the day.

4

My flesh and my skin hath he made old;14 he hath broken14 my bones.

5

He hath builded1 against me, and compassed55 [me] with gall and travail.

6

He hath set52 me in dark places, as [they that be] dead5 of old.

7

He hath hedged1 me about, that I cannot get out:4 he hath made my chain heavy.52

8

Also when I cry4 and shout,17 he shutteth out1 my prayer.

9

He hath inclosed1 my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.14

10

He [was] unto me [as] a bear lying in wait,6 [and as] a lion in secret places.

11

He hath turned aside31 my ways, and pulled me in pieces:17 he hath made1 me desolate.6

12

He hath bent1 his bow, and set55 me as a mark for the arrow.

13

He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter52 into my reins.

14

I was a derision to all my people; [and] their song all the day.

15

He hath filled52 me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken52 with wormwood.

16

He hath also broken55 my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered52 me with ashes.

17

And thou hast removed my soul far off4 from peace: I forgat1 prosperity.

18

And I said,4 My strength and my hope is perished1 from the LORD:

19

Remembering3 mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

20

My soul hath [them] still2 in remembrance,4 and is humbled55 in me.

21

This I recall55 to my mind, therefore have I hope.55

22

[It is of] the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed,1 because his compassions fail1 not.

23

[They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness.

24

The LORD [is] my portion, saith1 my soul; therefore will I hope55 in him.

25

The LORD [is] good unto them that wait6 for him, to the soul [that] seeketh4 him.

26

[It is] good that [a man] should both hope 2342 4 and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

27

[It is] good for a man that he bear4 the yoke in his youth.

28

He sitteth4 alone and keepeth silence,4 because he hath borne1 [it] upon him.

29

He putteth4 his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

30

He giveth4 [his] cheek to him that smiteth56 him: he is filled4 full with reproach.

31

For the Lord will not cast off4 for ever:

32

But though he cause grief,52 yet will he have compassion14 according to the multitude of his mercies.

33

For he doth not afflict14 willingly nor grieve17 the children of men.

34

To crush15 under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

35

To turn aside53 the right of a man before the face of the most High,

36

To subvert15 a man in his cause, the Lord approveth1 not.

37

Who [is] he [that] saith,1 and it cometh to pass, [when] the Lord commandeth14 [it] not?

38

Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth4 not evil and good?

39

Wherefore doth a living man complain,101 a man for the punishment of his sins?

40

Let us search4 and try4 our ways, and turn again4 to the LORD.

41

Let us lift up4 our heart with [our] hands unto God in the heavens.

42

We have transgressed1 and have rebelled:1 thou hast not pardoned.1

43

Thou hast covered1 with anger, and persecuted4 us: thou hast slain,1 thou hast not pitied.1

44

Thou hast covered1 thyself with a cloud, that [our] prayer should not pass through.2

45

Thou hast made4 us [as] the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

46

All our enemies6 have opened1 their mouths against us.

47

Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

48

Mine eye runneth down4 with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49

Mine eye trickleth down,8 and ceaseth4 not, without any intermission,

50

Till the LORD look down,55 and behold4 from heaven.

51

Mine eye affecteth22 mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

52

Mine enemies6 chased1 me sore,2 like a bird, without cause.

53

They have cut off1 my life in the dungeon, and cast17 a stone upon me.

54

Waters flowed1 over mine head; [then] I said,1 I am cut off.8

55

I called1 upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

56

Thou hast heard1 my voice: hide55 not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

57

Thou drewest near1 in the day [that] I called4 upon thee: thou saidst,1 Fear4 not.

58

O Lord, thou hast pleaded1 the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed1 my life.

59

O LORD, thou hast seen1 my wrong: judge3 thou my cause.

60

Thou hast seen1 all their vengeance [and] all their imaginations against me.

61

Thou hast heard1 their reproach, O LORD, [and] all their imaginations against me;

62

The lips of those that rose up5 against me, and their device against me all the day.

63

Behold54 their sitting down,2 and their rising up; I [am] their musick.

64

Render55 unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

65

Give4 them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

66

Persecute4 and destroy55 them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.

The Lamentations of Jeremiah

Chapter 4

1

How is the gold become dim!93 [how] is the most fine gold changed!4 the stones of the sanctuary are poured out101 in the top of every street.

2

The precious sons of Zion, comparable30 to fine gold, how are they esteemed8 as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!6

3

Even the sea monsters draw out1 the breast, they give suck52 to their young ones: the daughter of my people [is become] cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

4

The tongue of the sucking child6 cleaveth1 to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask1 bread, [and] no man breaketh6 [it] unto them.

5

They that did feed6 delicately are desolate8 in the streets: they that were brought up7 in scarlet embrace14 dunghills.

6

For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater4 than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown7 as in a moment, and no hands stayed1 on her.

7

Her Nazarites were purer1 than snow, they were whiter1 than milk, they were more ruddy1 in body than rubies, their polishing [was] of sapphire:

8

Their visage is blacker1 than a coal; they are not known8 in the streets: their skin cleaveth1 to their bones; it is withered,1 it is become like a stick.

9

[They that be] slain with the sword are better than [they that be] slain with hunger: for these pine away,4 stricken through30 for [want of] the fruits of the field.

10

The hands of the pitiful women have sodden14 their own children: they were their meat15 in the destruction of the daughter of my people.

11

The LORD hath accomplished14 his fury; he hath poured out1 his fierce anger, and hath kindled55 a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured4 the foundations thereof.

12

The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants6 of the world, would not have believed52 that the adversary and the enemy6 should have entered4 into the gates of Jerusalem.

13

For the sins of her prophets, [and] the iniquities of her priests, that have shed6 the blood of the just in the midst of her,

14

They have wandered1 [as] blind [men] in the streets, they have polluted8 themselves with blood, so that men could4 not touch4 their garments.

15

They cried1 unto them, Depart3 ye; [it is] unclean; depart,3 depart,3 touch4 not: when they fled away1 and wandered,1 they said1 among the heathen, They shall no more55 sojourn2 [there].

16

The anger of the LORD hath divided14 them; he will no more55 regard53 them: they respected1 not the persons of the priests, they favoured1 not the elders.

17

As for us, our eyes as yet failed4 for our vain help: in our watching we have watched14 for a nation [that] could not save55 [us].

18

They hunt1 our steps, that we cannot go2 in our streets: our end is near,1 our days are fulfilled;1 for our end is come.1

19

Our persecutors6 are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued1 us upon the mountains, they laid wait1 for us in the wilderness.

20

The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken8 in their pits, of whom we said,1 Under his shadow we shall live4 among the heathen.

21

Rejoice3 and be glad,3 O daughter of Edom, that dwellest6 in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass4 through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken,4 and shalt make thyself naked.101

22

The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished,1 O daughter of Zion; he will no more55 carry thee away into captivity:53 he will visit1 thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover14 thy sins.

The Lamentations of Jeremiah

Chapter 5

1

Remember,3 O LORD, what is come upon us: consider,54 and behold3 our reproach.

2

Our inheritance is turned8 to strangers,5 our houses to aliens.

3

We are orphans and fatherless, 1 our mothers [are] as widows.

4

We have drunken1 our water for money; our wood is sold4 4242 unto us.

5

Our necks [are] under persecution:8 we labour,1 [and] have no rest.90

6

We have given1 the hand [to] the Egyptians, [and to] the Assyrians, to be satisfied2 with bread.

7

Our fathers have sinned,1 [and are] not; and we have borne1 their iniquities.

8

Servants have ruled1 over us: [there is] none that doth deliver6 [us] out of their hand.

9

We gat55 our bread with [the peril of] our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.

10

Our skin was black8 like an oven because of the terrible famine.

11

They ravished14 the women in Zion, [and] the maids in the cities of Judah.

12

Princes are hanged up8 by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.8

13

They took1 the young men to grind, and the children fell1 under the wood.

14

The elders have ceased1 from the gate, the young men from their musick.

15

The joy of our heart is ceased;1 our dance is turned8 into mourning.

16

The crown is fallen1 [from] our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!1

17

For this our heart is faint; for these [things] our eyes are dim.1

18

Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate,1 the foxes walk14 upon it.

19

Thou, O LORD, remainest4 for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.

20

Wherefore dost thou forget4 us for ever, [and] forsake4 us so long time?

21

Turn54 thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned;4 renew16 our days as of old.

22

But thou hast utterly2 rejected1 us; thou art very wroth1 against us.
